Jordan Ford to receive FAHE’s Dr. Marion B. Pollock Fellowship Award

WASHINGTON, D. C., – The Foundation for the Advancement of Health Education (FAHE) will present Jordan Ford with the Dr. Marion B. Pollock Fellowship Award during the 2025 Annual Conference in Long Beach, April 16-18.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this award. It is a testament to the importance of advancing public health through education, research, and advocacy. Dr. Marion B. Pollock’s legacy is deeply inspiring, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the field in a way that aligns with her impactful work,” said Ford.

This FAHE award recognizes a talented and committed teacher or community educator working with children and youth for graduate study at the master’s degree level.

“My work is rooted in the belief that education is a powerful tool for improving health outcomes and reducing disparities,” she shares. “This award reinforces my commitment to bridging the gap between research and practice, ensuring that evidence-based strategies are accessible and actionable for communities in need.”

Jordan Ford is an Outreach Librarian and Community Health Worker at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark. With a background in education, library science, and health promotion, she is dedicated to making reliable health information more accessible in her community. “What stands out to me most about this award is its emphasis on both leadership and service. Public health is a collaborative effort, and I deeply value the recognition of work that uplifts communities, fosters policy change, and empowers individuals to take charge of their health,” she explained. Through statewide outreach, research support, and health literacy initiatives, Jordan empowers individuals to make informed healthcare decisions, bridging the gap between medical knowledge and the people who need it most.

Ford embodies this award as someone who exemplifies leadership in both her professional work and her dedication to serving the community. “I’d like to express my gratitude for this recognition, as well as to the mentors, colleagues, and community partners who have supported my work along the way. My work is only possible because of the incredible people I get to work with!” Ford concluded.
