SOPHE’s peer-reviewed journal, Pedagogy in Health Promotion: The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, seeks an editor that will begin their term in January 2025.
The quarterly journal focuses on pedagogy through contributions in areas such as curriculum and course/program design, assessment, and administration relevant to teaching and learning in health promotion and public health. The content of the journal is also relevant to instructors or trainers who provide continuing professional education, in the broad arena of health promotion and public health.
The editor is responsible for the journal’s direction and vision including managing the manuscript solicitation, peer review, acceptance, and publishing processes; maintaining effective relationships with the publisher, staff, and editorial board; and keeping PHP on an upward trajectory as a premier resource for the scholarship of teaching and learning in health promotion and public health.
The ideal candidate will bring a mindset that fosters creative ideas to position the journal for continuous growth and to serve as a premier resource for educators. The ideal candidate will have experience in academia, particularly as an educator and pedagogical scholar. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership and communication skills.
After a brief transition period, the appointment for the new editor will begin January 1, 2025. The appointment is supported by an annual stipend not to exceed a period of five years.
