Measurement Issues for Health Education Specialists
In this webinar, the participants will enhance their understanding about the foundations of measurement as these apply to assessing needs for and evaluating evidence-based health education and health promotion interventions. Essential concepts pertaining to measurement theory; types of common variables used in health education and health promotion programs; steps in instrument development for health behaviors and their antecedents; utilization of theoretical paradigms in measurement; statistical aspects of reliability and validity, and creating robust, new self-report questionnaires will be discussed. Applications of instrument development using multi-theory model (MTM) of health behavior change to physical activity behavior change and other behaviors will be elaborated. Guided references for further readings will be provided in the webinar.
